UPDATE: Limited supply of the Asus RTX 3070 Noctua Edition has arrived.
If you’ve been considering pairing the silent cooling of Noctua fans with an Asus performance graphics card, you’re in luck: Asus and Noctua have collaborated to produce precisely what you’ve been looking for!
A pair of gorgeous (and huge) Noctua NF-A12x25 fans are included in this new ASUS Noctua Edition Graphics Card. The card’s overall volume was increased to cover 4.3 slots of space and needs 28-pin power inputs, with low noise levels and excellent cooling performance being priorities.
The heatsink was developed in collaboration with ASUS’s experienced thermal R&D team and Noctua’s engineers, who worked together to fine-tune the fin density and heat pipe layout, optimizing it for the NF-airflow A12x25’s characteristics. Because of the many advances packed within its 120mm frame, the NF-A12x25 fan was selected for this project. The fan blades may rest only 0.5 mm away from the outside frame thanks to an impeller manufactured from Noctua’s patented Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer, which has a very low thermal expansion coefficient. Because of its very tight tolerance, the NF-A12x25 may operate more effectively against back pressure by minimizing airflow leakage between the blade tips and the outer frame. This extremely accurate gap between impeller and frame is further supported by a metal-reinforced motor hub and axis. Furthermore, at lower speeds, an unique PWM IC with Smooth Commutation Drive technology minimizes fan noise. For a GPU heatsink application, an acoustic profile that is specially adjusted for a smooth and pleasant nature, even when back pressure is present, is suitable. At the tip of each impeller blade, Flow Acceleration Channels increase efficiency while reducing vortex noise. The fan frame’s inner surface microstructures decrease noise from passing fan blades. Soft silicone anti-vibration cushions prevent sympathetic vibrations from being transmitted to the graphics card and then via the casing. Hundreds of media accolades and a reputation as the finest 120 mm fan on the market have resulted from these sophisticated features.
Because of this collaborative development approach, the graphics card has some of the greatest thermal performance per decibel of noise emitted of any graphics card on the market.
ASUS provides the following information: “We’ve developed a new GPU heatsink that’s tailor-made for the performance characteristics of the state-of-the-art NF-A12x25 fans,” said Kent Chien, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the ASUS Multimedia Business Unit, “using our vast thermal R&D expertise.” “Through our collaboration, we’ve created a unique graphics card that optimizes heat dissipation per decibel of noise produced, all in a package that works seamlessly with other Noctua products in a DIY PC.” – “Users who are most worried about their system’s noise levels and noise characteristics will definitely notice the change.”
While compared to the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 OC Edition, the Noctua Edition generates a 10 dB lower sound pressure level when the power limit, ambient temperature, and thermal junction temperature are all kept constant.
“This card achieves a considerable increase in performance-to-noise efficiency by utilizing our NF-A12x25 fans and cooperating to fine-tune the heatsink for use with them,” said Noctua CEO Roland Mossig. “The ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 lineup is already impressive, but we believe the Noctua Edition will be the icing on the cake for noise-sensitive customers.”
For the pair of NF-A12x25 enthusiasts, the famous custom brown shroud is on display to show off that oh so unmistakable color scheme. On the front and sides of the shroud, there are ASUS and Noctua logos, as well as discreet graphics on the full-length metal backplate.
Aside from the custom heatsink and whisper-quiet fans, this new graphics card has all of the typical ASUS features, including a 144-hour validation procedure that ensures this card is ready to operate for the long haul.
Stock is anticipated to be very limited, so visit the Noctua Store or the Asus Store now to see what’s new!
